Through the Volunteer Cambodia service learning course, participants gain valuable experience in their personal and academic development.
Upon completion of the teaching program, students receive a Certificate of Achievement from the school and Ministry of Education.
Volunteer Cambodia involves 20 hours of in-class teaching at a local primary school in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The program also incorporates adventure and cultural activities, luxury world-class accommodations, international cuisine and local flare.
Participants engage in teaching duties as part of the program.
- Teach English, ICT, Science, PE, Arts & Crafts and Song & Dance in local community schools
- Teach an elementary class (grades 1-6)
- Teach in teaching teams of 2 or 3 people
- Prepare lesson plans and practice delivering classroom instruction in advance
- Bring all the required resources & supplies (ex. whiteboard markers, camera for photography class, arts & crafts supplies, computers for music class, skipping ropes for PE class
- Create meaningful learning experiences for young learners
- Help improve the lives of young people in desperate need
